Delyth Fetherston-Dilke
Delyth is an upholsterer specialising in exploring sustainable solutions to furniture using natural materials. Her work has featured in House and Garden, the World of Interiors and Homes and Gardens. She is on the board of the Association of Master Upholsterers. Delyth spent 18 years as a lawyer before retraining as an upholsterer and applied this skill-set to investigating the high use of toxic flame retardant chemicals in furniture in the UK. She is co-author of a scientific consensus paper on reconciling fire safety with environmental and health impacts of flame retardants and initiated a campaign whereby 6,000 upholsterers wrote to the Government asking for the use of toxic chemicals in furniture to change.
